About

Harrison Lake North Shelter is a day-use picnic facility at Harrison Lake State Park, positioned near the park entrance in the scenic woodlands of northwest Ohio's agricultural region. The shelter serves visitors looking for a covered gathering space for picnics, family reunions, or group activities. The park surrounds 105-acre Harrison Lake, created in 1941 by damming Mill Creek. Visitors have access to a 150-foot swimming beach, 3.5 miles of hiking trails, and a free 9-hole disc golf course located near the North Shelter. Fishing opportunities include largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish, northern pike, and carp, with electric motors only permitted on the lake. Ohio State Parks do not charge entrance fees. The shelter operates on a reservation system through ReserveOhio.com or can be used first-come, first-served when not reserved. Standard shelter rentals are for a 6-hour block between 10 AM and park closing.
