About
The Hocking Hills Youth Group Area is a primitive tent camping facility within Hocking Hills State Park in southeastern Ohio. Originally designated exclusively for youth organizations, the campground now welcomes any tent campers seeking a more rustic experience while still having vehicle access to their site. The 13 sites are divided into small group sites (Y1-Y10) accommodating up to 10 people and large group sites (Y11-Y13) for groups up to 60. The campground offers a back-to-basics experience with pit latrines provided on-site. Running water is not available at the youth group area; the nearest water access is at the Hike-In Campground. However, registered campers can utilize the main campground amenities including heated showers, flush toilets, laundry facility, dump station, camp store, and seasonal swimming pool. Hocking Hills State Park is renowned for its dramatic rock formations, caves, waterfalls, and forested gorges. Popular hiking destinations like Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, and Rock House are nearby. The park operates year-round, though specific campground seasons may vary.
