The Hocking Hills Youth Group Area is a designated primitive camping facility within Hocking Hills State Park, specifically designed for organized youth groups. This tent-only campground offers a more secluded and traditional camping experience compared to the park's main family campground. Located in the southern portion of the park near Ash Cave and Cedar Falls, the area provides convenient access to some of the park's most popular hiking destinations. The campground features multiple primitive group sites that can accommodate larger parties, making it ideal for scout troops, church groups, and other youth organizations seeking an outdoor adventure. While the camping experience is primitive at this location, campers have access to shower and toilet facilities at the main Hocking Hills campground, approximately 11 minutes away by vehicle. All sites are reservable and must be booked in advance. The campground is part of Hocking Hills State Park's broader mission to provide diverse recreational opportunities within a spectacular natural setting featuring towering cliffs, waterfalls, and deep hemlock-shaded gorges. The park's trails are open year-round from dawn to dusk, allowing youth groups to explore the natural beauty of the region during their stay.

Directions

From Logan, Ohio, take State Route 664 South for approximately 12 miles to the Hocking Hills State Park entrance. Follow signs to the Youth Group Campground.
