About
Lake Alma State Park encompasses 292 acres in the heart of Ohio's rugged, scenic unglaciated hill country in Vinton County. The campground features approximately 60 wooded campsites suitable for tents and trailers, with varying levels of service to accommodate different camping styles. Six sites offer full hookups with water, electric, and sewer connections, while 67 sites provide electric-only hookups. Ten primitive non-electric sites are also available for those seeking a more rustic experience. All sites include picnic tables and fire rings. The campground is well-equipped with modern amenities including an ADA-accessible shower house with hot showers, flush toilets, a dump station, and drinking water throughout the facility. A playground is located within the campground, and the camp office loans games and sports equipment to registered campers. WiFi is available, and pets are permitted on designated sites, making it a family-friendly destination. The park's centerpiece is a tranquil 60-acre lake offering excellent opportunities for fishing and boating. Visitors can enjoy swimming at the beach area, explore three hiking trails through wooded terrain, or ride the paved bike path. The park's location in Ohio's unglaciated region provides more rugged topography and scenic beauty compared to other areas of the state, making it an ideal base for outdoor recreation.
