About
Jackson Lake State Park Campground is a small but scenic lakeside retreat located in Oak Hill, Ohio, within the Appalachian Highlands region. The park encompasses 106 acres of land surrounding a 242-acre lake, providing a heavily wooded setting for camping and outdoor recreation. Dedicated as a state park in 1979, Jackson Lake offers a more intimate camping experience compared to larger state parks in Ohio. The campground features 34 campsites, all equipped with 50-amp electric service to accommodate both RVs and tent campers. Sites are situated close to the lake and beach area, with some open sites offering easy access to the water. The compact layout creates a community atmosphere while maintaining the natural character of the surrounding woodlands. Maximum RV length is typically 35 feet, making it suitable for most recreational vehicles. Recreational amenities include a 200-foot sandy beach for swimming, three boat launch ramps for lake access, fishing opportunities throughout the lake, three picnic shelters, playground facilities, and a dump station for RV campers. The park is open from 6 AM to 11 PM daily during the camping season. Managed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the park office is located at Shawnee State Park, with a dedicated camp office on-site during operating season.
