About
Karick Lake North Campground sits on the north shore of 65-acre Karick Lake in Blackwater River State Forest, Florida's largest state forest encompassing over 210,000 acres of longleaf pine-wiregrass ecosystem. The campground provides 15 improved sites suitable for RVs or tents, each with 30-amp electric service and potable water hookups. A central bathhouse offers restrooms and showers, and a dump station is available for RV waste disposal. Recreational opportunities include fishing from the boat ramp and pier, canoeing, bird watching, wildlife viewing, and nature photography. A scenic half-mile walking path encircles the lake and connects to the Karick Lake South Campground. Only electric motors are permitted on the lake, and swimming is not allowed. The campground operates year-round with reservations required through the Florida State Forests reservation system. Alcohol is prohibited. During hunting season (Thanksgiving through mid-February), wearing fluorescent orange is recommended even though the immediate area is a non-hunting zone.
