About

Camp Paquette Youth Group Camp is a primitive group camping facility nestled within Blackwater River State Forest, Florida's largest state forest encompassing over 210,000 acres of woodlands, lakes, and streams. Located approximately one hour northeast of Pensacola in Santa Rosa County, the camp sits adjacent to a 5-acre lake that provides swimming, fishing, and canoeing opportunities. The facility features four group tent sites (North 1, North 2, South 1, and South 2), each capable of accommodating up to 50 occupants. While campsites themselves lack water and electrical hookups, shared bathhouses provide restrooms, showers, potable water, and 110-volt electrical outlets. An open-air pavilion with a fireplace serves as a communal gathering space. Each campsite has its own fire pit. This camp is exclusively for organized youth groups with adult chaperones and requires advance reservations through Florida State Forests. Swimming requires certified lifeguard supervision with specific youth-to-adult ratios, and life jackets are mandatory for canoeing. No pets are permitted at this facility.
