About

Kirby Landing Campground occupies a prime stretch of Lake Greeson shoreline, a 7,260-acre U.S. Army Corps of Engineers impoundment on the Little Missouri River. The surrounding landscape features loblolly and shortleaf pine mixed with sweet gum and oak, transitioning to bottomland hardwoods near the water. White-tailed deer, wild turkey, and wintering bald eagles inhabit the area. The campground provides more than 100 sites, each equipped with 50-amp electrical service, a water hookup, picnic table, ground grill, pedestal grill, and lantern pole. Pull-through sites accommodating rigs up to 75 feet are available. Centralized facilities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, and a dump station. A swim beach, playground, boat ramp, and marina round out the amenities. Recreation centers on the lake's clear water, which supports bass, catfish, crappie, and walleye fishing as well as water skiing, tubing, and cruising. The Bear Creek Cycle Trail starts within the campground, and 30 miles of walking and cycling trails extend through the surrounding public lands. The Lake Greeson Wildlife Management Area offers seasonal hunting for deer, turkey, quail, and small game. Crater of Diamonds State Park lies within 30 miles.
