About
Dam Area Campground is situated on a hill overlooking Narrows Dam, the only all-concrete dam in the Vicksburg District, on the shores of Lake Greeson. The campground features 24 campsites with a mix of configurations: sites 1-18 offer electric hookups, sites 6-11 include 20 and 30 amp electric plus water, and site 17 provides full hookups with electric, water, and sewer. Non-electric sites 19-24 are also available. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, ground grill, pedestal grill, and lantern post.
Lake Greeson spans approximately 12 miles with over 7,260 surface acres fed by the clear waters of the Little Missouri River. The lake is recognized for its rich variety of game fish, including largemouth, smallmouth, striped, spotted, and white bass, along with flathead and channel catfish, black crappie, walleye, and bluegill. The clear waters are ideal for water skiing, tubing, personal watercraft, and boating. A unique attraction is the trout fishing access at the Riverside Day Use Area just a few miles away, where cold waters below Narrows Dam are stocked by the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission.
The on-site marina offers boat and watercraft rentals, along with picnic and fishing supplies. The surrounding landscape features loblolly pine, shortleaf pine, sweet gum, and oak trees, providing habitat for white-tailed deer, wild turkey, geese, bald eagles, migratory waterfowl, and songbirds. Crater of Diamonds State Park, the only diamond-producing site in the world open to the public, is located within 15 miles of the campground.
