About
Dam Area Campground occupies a scenic hilltop position above Narrows Dam, the only all-concrete dam in the Vicksburg District. Lake Greeson stretches 12 miles with over 7,260 surface acres fed by the Little Missouri River. The surrounding landscape features loblolly and shortleaf pine, sweet gum, and oak on upland areas, with bottomland hardwoods along waterways. Wildlife includes white-tailed deer, wild turkey, bald eagles, and migratory waterfowl.
The campground offers 24 sites with varied hookup options. Sites 1-18 have electric service, with sites 6-11 providing 20/30 amp electric plus water hookups, and site 17 offering full hookups including sewer. Sites 19-24 are non-electric. Each site includes a picnic table, ground grill, pedestal grill, and lantern post. The facility features flush toilets, hot showers, potable water, and a dump station.
Lake Greeson is recognized for exceptional fishing, including largemouth, smallmouth, striped, spotted, and white bass, flathead and channel catfish, black crappie, walleye, and bluegill. The clear waters support water skiing, tubing, and personal watercraft. Below the dam, the Little Missouri River offers trout fishing with regular stocking by Arkansas Game & Fish Commission. Crater of Diamonds State Park, the only diamond mine open to the public, lies within 15 miles.
