Cowhide Cove Campground is located on Lake Greeson, a scenic 12-mile-long reservoir on the Little Missouri River in Pike County, Arkansas. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the campground provides 50 campsites including 48 sites with electric hookups and 2 tent-only sites. Each site features a picnic table, ground grill, pedestal grill, and lantern pole. The campground offers hot showers, a dump station, boat ramp, playground, and swimming beach. A short nature trail within the campground provides opportunities for birdwatching and family walks. Lake Greeson's 7,260 surface acres support excellent fishing for largemouth, striped, spotted, smallmouth and white bass, along with catfish, crappie, walleye and bluegill. The clear waters are ideal for water skiing, tubing, and cruising, with four marinas around the lake offering fuel, boat rentals, and supplies. The area around Lake Greeson features 30 miles of trails for walking, nature observation, and cycling. Loblolly pine, shortleaf pine, sweet gum and oak dominate the upland forest. Wildlife includes white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and bald eagles that winter on the lake. Crater of Diamonds State Park, the world's only diamond-producing site open to the public, is within 30 miles.

Directions

From Hot Springs, take Highway 70 west for 41 miles to Kirby. Continue onto Route 27 south for 5 miles to Cowhide Cove Access Road. Turn right and drive 2 miles to the campground.
