In south central Virginia, Brunswick, Dinwiddie, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Nottoway and Prince George (including Hopewell and Petersburg). In southeast Virginia, Accomack, Greensville, Hampton/Poquoson, Isle of Wight, James City, Newport News, Southampton, Surry, Sussex and York. * WHEN...Through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms are expected to become more widespread tonight into early Thursday morning. An additional 2 to 3 inches of rain are possible with locally higher amounts. This will be in addition to any rain that occurred last evening into early this morning, which was highest from east-central Virginia to the Virginia Eastern Shore. The Kiptopeke State Park Shelters consist of two rentable picnic pavilions located within this Eastern Shore state park. Each shelter accommodates up to 80 people and includes nine 7-foot picnic tables plus three 16-foot ADA-accessible tables, charcoal grills, electricity, and access to nearby restrooms. Additional non-reservable seating for 40 people is available outside each shelter. These are strictly day-use facilities, available for rental from 8 a.m. until dusk, and operate seasonally from March through November. They are ideal for family reunions, group picnics, and special events. Both shelters are ADA-accessible with wheelchair openings and a concrete walkway connecting them to the picnic bathhouse. Note that these shelters do not provide overnight camping. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations should book sites at the adjacent Kiptopeke State Park campground, which offers tent sites, RV sites with hookups, yurts, cabins, and lodges.

From the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, take US-13 North approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto Kiptopeke Drive and follow signs to the park entrance at 3540 Kiptopeke Dr., Cape Charles, VA 23310.
