About

Kiptopeke State Park Campground sits on the Eastern Shore of Virginia along the Chesapeake Bay, three miles from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. The 562-acre park offers 145 campsites divided between a full-service campground with hookups and a tent-only area. The full-service section includes 27 sites with electric, water, and sewer hookups, 66 sites with electric and water, and 52 tent-only sites without hookups. All sites feature picnic tables and fire rings. The campground provides access to two Chesapeake Bay beaches, a lighted fishing pier extending into the bay near the historic concrete ships, a boat ramp, and over five miles of hiking and biking trails. The park is particularly notable for its location on the Atlantic Flyway, making it one of the East Coast's premier bird migration stopover sites. Bathhouses in both camping areas offer hot showers, restrooms, and coin-operated laundry facilities. During the camping season, a camp store sells firewood, supplies, snacks, and rents bikes and kayaks.
