About

Kiptopeke State Park sits at the southern tip of Virginia's Eastern Shore, named after a Kecoughtan chief. The park's cabins provide year-round lodging with modern amenities including full kitchens equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffeemaker, dishes, and cooking utensils. Each cabin features heat and air conditioning plus a gas log fireplace. Two-bedroom cabins accommodate up to six guests while three-bedroom cabins sleep eight. Linens and towels are not provided. The park offers exceptional access to the Chesapeake Bay including two swimming beaches, a fishing pier open 24 hours, and a boat launch. Bird enthusiasts can visit during fall migration when raptors and songbirds concentrate at this major flyway. Over five miles of hiking and biking trails wind through coastal habitat. A camp store operates late May through mid-October offering firewood, ice, kayak rentals, and fishing tackle. Bathhouses with hot showers and coin laundry are available to cabin guests. Pets are welcome in cabins for a $20 per pet per night fee. Several cabins and lodge units are ADA accessible. The park is located about 10 miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.
