About
First Landing State Park sits at the site where English colonists first landed in 1607, making it one of Virginia's most historically significant parks. Located on Shore Drive in Virginia Beach, the park encompasses over 2,800 acres of protected coastal habitat where the Chesapeake Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. The cabin area provides a comfortable base for exploring the park's 19 miles of hiking trails, 1.5 miles of beach, and diverse ecosystems including bald cypress swamps and rare dune habitats. The park offers 20 two-bedroom cabins, each accommodating 4-6 guests with one queen bed and bunk beds. Cabins 1-6 are original wood-frame structures with hardwood floors, while cabins 7-20 are newer cinderblock construction with cedar siding, tile and carpet floors, and televisions with DVD players. All cabins include a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffeemaker, and cookware. Climate control is provided via heat pumps, and each cabin has a fireplace for cooler evenings. Outdoor amenities include screened porches, decks, charcoal grills, and fire rings at every cabin. All cabins are accessible via paved pathways. Guests must bring their own linens including sheets, pillowcases, blankets, towels, and kitchen towels. Pets are permitted for an additional $20 per night fee. The park does not provide dishwashers, telephones, or laundry facilities in the cabins.
