First Landing State Park Cabins
Closed for renovations from November 1, 2024 through October 31, 2026. All 20 cabins are being completely renovated during this period.
About
First Landing State Park offers 20 two-bedroom cabins in Virginia Beach, located within the state's most popular park where English colonists first landed in 1607. The historic cabins, originally constructed by African-American Civilian Conservation Corps workers in the 1930s, are situated across Shore Drive from 1.5 miles of Chesapeake Bay beachfront. The cabins are divided into two types: six wood-frame cabins with hardwood floors and 14 cinder block cabins with cedar siding. All feature climate-controlled interiors, full kitchens with modern appliances, screened porches, decks, fire rings, and grills. Cabins sleep between four and six people depending on configuration. The park provides access to exceptional recreational opportunities including 20 miles of hiking and biking trails through cypress swamps and maritime forest, swimming in the Chesapeake Bay, fishing, crabbing, and boating via a free boat launch for overnight guests. The park's Chesapeake Bay Center, Trail Center, and various interpretive programs highlight the area's rich natural and cultural history.
