* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of eastern, south central, and southeast Virginia, including the following areas, in eastern Virginia, Gloucester, Mathews and Northampton. In south central Virginia, Brunswick, Dinwiddie, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Nottoway and Prince George (including Hopewell and Petersburg). In southeast Virginia, Accomack, Greensville, Hampton/Poquoson, Isle of Wight, James City, Newport News, Southampton, Surry, Sussex and York. * WHEN...Through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms are expected to become more widespread tonight into early Thursday morning. An additional 2 to 3 inches of rain are possible with locally higher amounts. This will be in addition to any rain that occurred last evening into early this morning, which was highest from east-central Virginia to the Virginia Eastern Shore.
