About

First Landing State Park campground occupies a unique coastal environment where bald cypress swamps meet the dunes of Chesapeake Bay. As Virginia's most visited state park, the campground provides access to 19 miles of trails, a bay-front beach, and free boat launch access for overnight guests. The campground offers 183 sites across several categories: 75 tent-only standard sites without hookups, 45 electric/water sites for equipment up to 20 feet, 27 sites for RVs up to 30 feet with 20/30/50-amp service, and 36 sites exclusively for RVs 32-50 feet long. Group camping is available at sites 44-65 with a three-site minimum. Four bathhouses provide hot showers and accessible facilities, while the Cape Snack Bar and Gifts camp store sells supplies, firewood, ice, and fishing gear. The park also features four yurts along the bay dunes for those seeking an alternative to traditional camping. Pets are welcome throughout the park with a 6-foot leash requirement and proof of rabies vaccination.
