About

Killen Creek Campground is a small, primitive campground located in Gifford Pinchot National Forest near the Mt. Adams Wilderness boundary. Situated in a high-elevation forest of lodgepole pine and silver fir, it provides an excellent basecamp for backpackers and day hikers planning to explore the northern trails of the wilderness. A free self-issued wilderness permit is required for entry into Mt. Adams Wilderness and is available at the nearby trailhead. The campground offers 9 standard non-electric sites on a first-come-first-served basis at $20 per night. Payment can be made on-site via the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature, though campers should download the app before arrival due to limited cellular service. Facilities include portapotties and picnic tables, but no potable water is available. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and dogs must be kept on a leash.
