About

Horseshoe Lake Campground offers a quiet, rustic camping experience on a 24-acre lake in the remote backcountry of Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The small campground has just 11 sites, most with views of the lake. Fishing is popular, and boating is permitted with electric motors only. The surrounding forest provides a peaceful setting for those seeking solitude. The campground serves as an excellent basecamp for exploring Mt. Adams Wilderness, with the Killen Creek trailhead nearby providing access to the wilderness area. Additional trail access includes Green Mountain Trail #110, High Lakes Trail #116, and Spring Creek Trail #115. Free, self-issued wilderness permits are required for wilderness entry, and motorized/mechanized uses are prohibited within the wilderness. This is a primitive facility. Vault toilets and picnic tables are provided, but there is no potable water, trash service, or hookups. Campers must bring adequate water supplies and pack out all trash. Campfires are not permitted. The maximum vehicle length is 16 feet, making this unsuitable for larger RVs or trailers.
