About

Cody Horsecamp is a purpose-built equestrian campground located in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, designed and maintained with help from the Lewis County Chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of Washington. The campground features 16 pull-through campsites situated in a stand of lodgepole pine and mixed conifers, providing ample shade throughout the day. Each site is equipped with highline poles and offers long pull-through parking to accommodate horse trailers, though the dense trees limit space for portable corrals. The facility includes a mounting assist ramp and water trough for stock animals, along with drinking water available from a hand pump for human use. A day-use trailhead for the Klickitat Loop Trail #7A is located within the campground, providing riders direct access to an extensive trail network. Heading south on the Klickitat, riders can connect to the Spring Creek Trail #115 and the High Lakes Trail #116, offering opportunities for multi-day backcountry riding. The campground operates as first-come, first-served during the season, with vault toilets and picnic tables at each site. Campfires are not allowed. Located at high elevation along Forest Road 5600059, the campground offers a quiet, light-use setting ideal for equestrian camping and trail riding.
