Alcohol Prohibitions

This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.

Aquatic Invasive Species

This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.

About

Kiahanie Campground is a quiet, family-friendly camping destination featuring 19 sites tucked into a lush, mature Douglas-fir, vine maple, and sword fern forest alongside the North Fork of the Middle Fork Willamette Wild and Scenic River. The campground sits along Forest Service Road 19, known as Aufderheide Drive, which forms part of the 220-mile West Cascades Scenic Byway. The area offers excellent recreational opportunities including fishing in the Wild and Scenic River (special regulations apply), road cycling along Aufderheide Drive, and scenic byway driving. The nearby North Fork Trail provides hiking and mountain biking access into the surrounding forest. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a Scan and Pay system available through the Recreation.gov mobile app. Located 25 miles northeast of Oakridge in Lane County, Kiahanie provides a peaceful base camp for exploring the Middle Fork Ranger District. Sites accommodate up to 6 people and 2 vehicles, with vault toilets and hand-pumped drinking water available. Dogs must be leashed at all times within the campground.

Directions

From the traffic light in Oakridge at Crestview Street and Highway 58, travel west on Highway 58 for 2.1 miles. Turn right onto Westfir-Oakridge Road and follow for 1.3 miles. Continue right through Westfir center, then go straight at the four-way intersection onto Forest Road 19/Aufderheide Drive. Continue approximately 20 miles; the campground entrance is on the left.
