About

Located on the north shore of Roosevelt Lake in Tonto National Forest, Indian Point Campground provides free dispersed camping access to central Arizona's largest lake. The campground offers several miles of hiking and lake access trails that wind through the site, along with a paved boat ramp for easy lake access. This is a primitive camping area with vault toilets but no potable water, so visitors must bring adequate supplies. The site accommodates trailers under 16 feet and enforces a 14-day stay limit with quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Access to the campground requires crossing Tonto Creek via Forest Road 60, which is mostly paved except for the creek crossing itself. The creek crossing can become impassable when water is flowing, particularly from January through April. Campers should check conditions before attempting the crossing and never attempt to cross when the creek is flowing. Pack-it-in, pack-it-out rules apply, and all regulations are posted at bulletin board areas throughout the site.
