Grapevine Group Campground occupies a unique setting along Roosevelt Lake's shoreline in the Sonoran Desert at 2,200 feet elevation. The campground is designed specifically for large groups, with sites that can accommodate 100+ people, making it ideal for fishing tournaments, family reunions, corporate events, and even weddings. The expansive facilities include a boat ramp for lake access, playground for children, sports field, and an event area for gatherings. The location provides direct access to Roosevelt Lake, central Arizona's largest lake, offering opportunities for motorized and non-motorized boating, fishing, jet skiing, and water skiing. A shoreline trail accommodates hikers and mountain bikers. Each group site features stunning views of the blue water, the Sierra Ancha mountains, and sunsets against three mountainous wilderness areas. Nearby attractions include Tonto National Monument cliff dwellings, portions of the Apache Trail Historic Road (State Highway 88), and the Desert to Tall Pines Scenic Road (State Highway 288). The campground typically operates seasonally from October through May, with a 14-day stay limit and trailers limited to under 32 feet.

Directions

From Mesa: Take State Highway 87/Beeline Highway north for about 60 miles to its junction with State Highway 188. Turn right and follow State Highway 188 for 33 miles to its junction with State Highway 88. Continue on State Highway 188 south for another 7.5 miles to Forest Road 84/Grapevine Group Site. Turn left onto FR 84 for 2 miles to the site. From Globe area: Take State Highway 188 west for 23 miles to its junction with FR 84/Grapevine Group Site. Turn right onto FR 84 for 2 miles to the site. All routes are paved.
