Icewater Creek Campground

Closed — Closed for the season due to snow. Opens in June and operates through snowfall, typically closing in late fall or early winter depending on conditions.

About

Located on Taneum Creek in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Icewater Creek Campground offers 15 first-come, first-served campsites at 2,700 feet elevation. The campground is popular with motorcycle riders, featuring a beginner's motorcycle loop trail that originates within the campground and providing direct access to North Fork Taneum Trail #1377. The area is restricted to single-track trails only, with no ATVs or Jeep trails permitted. The campground provides vault toilets but no potable water, so visitors must bring their own water supply. Sites can be paid for on-site using the Recreation.gov mobile app Scan and Pay feature, though downloading the app before arrival is recommended due to limited cellular service in the area. Located approximately 8.5 miles from I-90 via Forest Service Road 33, the campground operates seasonally from June through snowfall, typically closing for winter when snow makes the area inaccessible.

Directions

Take I-90 Exit 93 Elk Heights/Taneum Creek, go north about 1/4 mile to Thorp Prairie Road. Turn right and go about 3.5 miles to East Taneum Road. Turn right and cross over I-90 to West Taneum Road/Forest Service Road 33. Turn right and travel 8.5 miles. Campground is on the left.
