About

Icewater Creek Campground sits at 2,700 feet elevation along Taneum Creek in the Cle Elum Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The 15-site campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with payment available via QR code scanning through the Recreation.gov mobile app. Sites cost $24 per night with an $11 fee for additional vehicles. The campground is particularly popular with single-track motorcycle riders, featuring a beginner-level loop trail that originates within the campground. ATVs and Jeep trails are not permitted. Hikers can access North Fork Taneum Trail #1377 from the campground. Facilities are primitive with vault toilets available but no potable water, so visitors must bring their own water supply. The campground typically opens in June and remains open until snowfall closes access. The area experienced significant weather events in late 2025, so road conditions may vary. Taneum Road (Forest Road 3300) provides access from I-90 Exit 93.

Directions

Take I-90 Exit 93 (Elk Heights/Taneum Creek), go north about 1/4 mile to Thorp Prairie Road. Turn right and go about 3.5 miles to East Taneum Road. Turn right and cross over I-90 to West Taneum Road/Forest Service Road 33. Turn right and travel 8.5 miles. Campground is on the left.
