About

Hyde Memorial State Park is nestled at 8,500 feet elevation in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains pine forest along Little Tesuque Creek, just 8 miles northeast of Santa Fe. As New Mexico's first state park, it offers a quiet natural setting with easy access, making it a favorite base camp for exploring the surrounding Santa Fe National Forest. The campground features 28 campsites including RV sites with electric hookups and tent sites, plus 3 yurts and a lodge for group rentals. Sites are wooded and well-maintained, with maximum RV lengths up to 50 feet on select sites. The park offers beautiful hiking trails with spectacular views during summer months, while winter transforms it into a popular destination for snowshoeing, sledding, and cross-country skiing. Reservations are made through the New Mexico State Parks system up to 6 months in advance, though the park operates year-round. Water availability can be unreliable, so campers should plan accordingly. Fire restrictions are currently in place prohibiting wood fires, though LP gas devices are permitted. The park's proximity to Santa Fe, Taos, Los Alamos, and other northern New Mexico attractions makes it an ideal location for exploring the region.
