About
Holy Ghost Campground occupies a scenic location in a steep canyon along Holy Ghost Creek within Santa Fe National Forest. The 23 sites are spread along the creek and equipped with picnic tables, grills, and fire rings. Three vault toilets serve the campground, and bear-proof trash bins are provided. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground serves as a gateway to the Pecos Wilderness. Holy Ghost Trail #283 begins nearby and runs 4.2 miles along the creek, connecting to Winsor Trail #254 and a 350-mile trail network. The creek is stocked regularly by New Mexico Game and Fish with Rainbow and Brown Trout. Holy Ghost Road (FR 122) is very narrow with limited visibility, making it unsuitable for large trailers or RVs. Horse trailers and ATVs are prohibited. The campground operates first-come, first-served with no reservations available for individual sites.
Directions
16 miles north of Pecos on NM 63 and Forest Road 122. Road is paved but narrow.
