About

Hungry Mother State Park offers both an amphitheater and three picnic shelters for day rental, providing beautiful lakeside venues for weddings, events, and gatherings. The amphitheater sits on a scenic island accessed by a paved footbridge, surrounded by natural woodlands and lake views. It features wooden bench seating for up to 60 people with standing room for an additional 40, plus one electrical outlet. The natural setting makes it particularly popular for outdoor weddings and special events. The park also offers three distinct picnic shelters available for rent. Shelter 1 is universally accessible and closest to the beach, playground, and boat rentals, overlooking the lake and accommodating 75 guests. Shelter 2 is a secluded option near the boat rental area and amphitheater, also accommodating 75. Shelter 3 is the largest and can be rented in two separate sections, with each side accommodating 40 people. All shelters feature electrical outlets (seasonal), fireplaces, large Texas-sized charcoal grills, and multiple picnic tables. Shelters can be reserved through the state parks system for full-day use from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Directions
