About

Creekside Campground sits within Hungry Mother State Park in Smyth County, Virginia, where Hungry Mother Creek winds through a shaded forest setting. The campground features 19 paved campsites, each equipped with electric and water hookups, a fire ring, and a picnic table. A bathhouse with universally accessible facilities and seasonal laundry service is centrally located. The park surrounds a 108-acre lake offering swimming at a sandy beach, boat rentals, fishing, and a boat launch. Over 17 miles of hiking and biking trails traverse the surrounding mountains. The park also features a camp store, restaurant, and visitor center. A sharp turn in the access road limits vehicle size to 30 feet maximum. The campground operates year-round and accepts reservations up to 11 months in advance through the Virginia State Parks reservation system.
