About

Eggerts Landing sits on Lake Ashtabula in the scenic Sheyenne River Valley of eastern North Dakota. Created by Baldhill Dam in 1944, the lake lies within the glacially-carved prairie pothole region. The campground's thick forest canopy provides full shade and privacy at most sites, making it the most sought-after camping destination on the lake. The 41-site campground offers 37 standard electric sites with 30-amp service and 4 primitive walk-to tent sites. Amenities include flush toilets, showers, a swimming beach, playground, and hiking trail. A fishing pier, boat ramp, and dump station are within walking distance. The name Ashtabula means "Fish River" in Native American languages, and anglers pursue walleye, northern pike, white bass, and perch here. Spring and fall bring large flocks of migratory waterfowl including white pelicans. Nearly 3,000 acres of surrounding wildlife habitat offer opportunities for birding, hiking, and hunting. The 63-mile Sheyenne River Valley National Scenic Byway and 35 miles of the North Country National Scenic Trail are accessible nearby.
