About

Hotelling Campground is a small, rustic campground with four sites nestled along the South Fork of the Salmon River in the Klamath National Forest. The campground's riverside location provides direct access to swimming, wading, and water play on the gravel bar. Non-motorized boating and river fishing are popular activities. The setting offers excellent opportunities for wildlife observation, including riparian species along the river corridor, forest birds, and small mammals that frequent the campsites. A hiking trailhead is located above the campground for those looking to explore the surrounding forest. This is a primitive campground with no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply or filter water from the river. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no trash service; all garbage and recyclables must be packed out. The campground is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day maximum stay.
