About

Hot Springs Campground is situated along the Banks-Lowman Highway (State Highway 17) in Boise National Forest, just east of Garden Valley, Idaho at an elevation of 3,200 feet. The campground is nestled at the foot of a forested hillside where towering ponderosa pines provide partial shade and summer wildflowers dot the landscape. With 8 single campsites and 3 group sites, the campground offers a convenient base for exploring the South Fork Payette River corridor. The main attraction is the natural hot springs soaking pool located directly across the road from the campground at the river's edge, accessed by a staircase. The South Fork Payette River provides excellent opportunities for fishing, whitewater rafting, and kayaking, with several local outfitters offering guided trips. The campground's location on the Wildlife Canyon Scenic Byway puts visitors within reach of numerous other natural hot springs, scenic viewpoints, wildlife watching, and hiking trails. Due to the highway location, some road noise should be expected.
