About

Hooks Brook Boat Access Campground sits on the west bank of the Allegheny Reservoir, just south of Webbs Ferry Boat Launch. This rustic, boat-access-only campground offers 32 primitive tent sites spread along the shoreline. The campground is only accessible by watercraft, with the nearest launches being Webbs Ferry approximately 1 mile north on the west bank and Willow Bay 1 mile north on the east bank. Facilities are minimal: two vault toilets serve the campground, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Campfires are permitted in fire rings when attended and fully extinguished when leaving. Sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis at $12 per night, with payment accepted via cash, check, or the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature. The surrounding Allegheny Reservoir offers excellent opportunities for fishing (smallmouth bass, walleye, muskellunge, northern pike, channel catfish), swimming, and boating. Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Directions

From downtown Warren, travel north on Market St. to 2nd Ave. Turn right onto W. 5th Ave. and continue 3.3 miles as it becomes Scandia Road. Continue 5 miles until Warren-Olean Road veers left, then take the Forest Service Road to the right to reach Webbs Ferry Boat Launch. From there, boat approximately 1 mile south along the west bank of the reservoir.
