The Parallel, Bova, and Cain Hollow Cottages provide comfortable accommodations within Allegany State Park, New York's largest state park at 65,000 acres. Operated by a private-sector partner under contract with State Parks, the three cottage areas each contain 15 units spread across the Quaker Area (Parallel and Cain Hollow) and Red House Area (Bova). These are fully-equipped rentals with kitchens including refrigerator, range, and microwave, bathrooms with showers, heating systems, and provided linens and utensils. Bova cottages accommodate up to 6 guests while Parallel and Cain Hollow cottages sleep up to 4. Each cottage features an outdoor grill and picnic table. Pets are permitted in designated units with a maximum of 2 pets per cottage, requiring current rabies inoculation proof at check-in. Bova and Parallel cottages remain open year-round, making them suitable for winter activities like cross-country skiing and snowmobiling on the park's 90 groomed miles. Cain Hollow operates seasonally from April through November. The park offers extensive amenities including bath houses, laundry facilities, a convenience store, restaurant, natural history museum, boat and bike rentals, a sandy beach, and an amphitheater. Recreation options include hiking, biking on 5 miles of paved trails, fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, and bird watching. Check-in is 3 PM and check-out is 11 AM. Reservations require a 2-night minimum off-season and 7-14 night minimum during peak season (late June through late August).
