Parallel Bova Cain Hollow Cottages

Open — Bova and Parallel cottages are open year-round. Cain Hollow cottages operate seasonally March 28 through November 29. Reservations can be made up to 9 months in advance and require a minimum 2-night stay off-season, or 7-14 nights during peak season (late June through August).

Winds gusting as high as 50 mph creating blowing and drifting snow and at times white out conditions. * WHERE...Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie Counties. Greatest snow accumulation across the northern Chautauqua Ridge, Boston Hills and Buffalo Southtowns. * WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 3 PM EST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel will be very difficult in deep snow covered roads. Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday evening through the Wednesday morning commutes. Gusty winds will down tree branches and cause isolated power outages. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Expect lake snowband to oscillate with varying intensities and snowfall amounts over the area. Snowfall rates 2 inches per hour Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning. Wind chill values five to 15 below zero Monday night through Tuesday night.

The Parallel, Bova, and Cain Hollow Cottages at Allegany State Park are operated by ASP Partners, a private-sector partner under contract with New York State Parks. The facility includes 45 fully-equipped cottages distributed across three areas: 15 Bova Trail cottages in the Red House Area, 15 Parallel Trail cottages, and 15 Cain Hollow cottages in the Quaker Area. Each cottage accommodates up to 6 people (Cain Hollow cottages accommodate 4) and includes bedding and full amenities. Located within 65,000-acre Allegany State Park, guests have access to extensive recreational opportunities including 5 miles of paved trails, 90 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, and some of the finest cross-country skiing and mountain biking trails in the Northeast. The park features Red House Lake, Stone Tower, Summit Fire Tower, and Art Roscoe Ski Area. Activities include swimming, boating, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and wildlife watching in the park's primitive forested valleys. The cottages require minimum stays: 2 nights off-season, 7-14 nights during peak season (late June through August). Check-in is 3:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. Select cottages allow pets with current rabies vaccination proof required. The Access Pass/Lifetime Liberty Pass is not accepted for these cottages. Tents and smoking are prohibited in cottage areas.

From I-86/Route 17: Use Exits 19 or 20 for Red House Area (Bova cottages), or Exit 18 for Quaker Area (Parallel and Cain Hollow cottages). From Route 219: Follow to I-86/Route 17 west, or from Bradford, PA, take Interstate Parkway to the Quaker Area entrance.
