About

Tracy Ridge Campground occupies a scenic ridgetop at 2,245 feet elevation within the Allegheny National Recreation Area, surrounded by streams and rock formations in a mature oak stand. Located approximately 15 miles from Bradford, Pennsylvania and three miles east of the Allegheny Reservoir, this Forest Service campground offers 54 spacious, tree-shaded sites. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and tent pad. Vault toilets are available throughout the campground, and hand-pumped potable water is provided in Loop E from May through October. The campground serves as a primary trailhead for the 33-mile Tracy Ridge Trail System, which includes 10 miles of the North Country National Scenic Trail. The main Tracy Ridge Trail circles the campground before dropping to the North Country Trail and climbing back up the ridge for an approximately 16-mile loop. Shorter loop options exist on the ridge above Tracy Run, and connector trails lead to Handsome Lake and Hopewell primitive campgrounds, accessible only by foot or boat along the reservoir shore. Boat access to the Allegheny Reservoir is nearby at Willow Bay Recreation Area for developed launch facilities or Sugar Bay for primitive access. Mountain bikes, saddle animals, and pack animals are prohibited within the Tracy Ridge National Recreation Area. The campground is operated by Allegheny Site Management under a concession permit.
