About

Holly Flats Campground occupies a scenic stretch along Bald River deep within Cherokee National Forest's Tellico Ranger District. The remote 15-site campground provides a true rustic camping experience for those seeking solitude and river access. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table, camping pad, charcoal grill, and lantern post. The campground offers vault toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. The Bald River corridor is known for quality trout fishing, and several hiking trails are accessible from the area. Bear activity is present; all food and beverages must be stored in bear-proof containers, locked vehicles, or hard-sided campers when not in use. Holly Flats operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Sites cost $6 per night, with a maximum of 5 people and 2 vehicles per site. Check-in is at 2:00 p.m. and check-out is at noon. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The Scan and Pay feature via the Recreation.gov mobile app may be available for payment.
