About
Birch Branch Campground sits along the scenic Tellico River corridor in Tennessee's Cherokee National Forest. As one of the smaller campgrounds on Forest Road 210, it provides an intimate camping experience for visitors seeking solitude and direct access to fishing opportunities on the Tellico River. The campground features 5 primitive campsites, each furnished with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water on site, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Payment can be made on-site via cash or check, or through the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature where cell service permits. The surrounding Cherokee National Forest offers excellent fishing in the Tellico River, along with hiking trails and scenic mountain roads. Visitors should download the Recreation.gov mobile app before arriving, as cellular service is limited in this remote area.
Directions
From Tellico Plains, turn onto TN 165 for approximately 5 miles, then turn right onto Forest Road 210 past the Ranger Station. The campground is approximately 15 miles upstream.
