About
Spivey Cove Campground is a secluded, primitive camping area tucked into a quiet hollow near the Tellico River in Tennessee's Cherokee National Forest. The campground offers 16 sites available on a first-come, first-served basis, making it ideal for spontaneous camping trips in the southern Appalachians. The facilities are basic: vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water on site. Campers should bring their own drinking water, though nearby campgrounds in the Tellico corridor have water available. Sites are $6 per night and accommodate a maximum of 5 people and 2 vehicles. Payment can be made via QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, which should be downloaded before arrival due to limited cell service. This is bear country, so all food and beverages must be stored in approved bear-proof containers, locked vehicles, or hard-sided campers. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The campground provides a peaceful base for exploring the Tellico River area, with fishing and hiking opportunities nearby.
Directions
From Tellico Plains, turn onto TN 165 for approximately 5 miles, turn right onto Forest Road 210 past the Ranger Station. The campground is approximately 12 miles upstream.
