Gettysburg NMP and Eisenhower NHS are closed due to a major winter storm. The Gettysburg NMP Museum & Visitor Center is also closed. Please slow down and use caution if driving on public roads through the battlefield.
West Confederate Avenue Closes at 9 pm for July 4 Fireworks
West Confederate Avenue will close at 9 pm for the July 4 fireworks demonstration for visitor safety and resource protection. The avenue will reopen at the conclusion of the show.

Museum and Visitor Center Winter Hours take effect December 1, 2022. From December 1, 2022, to February 28, 2023, building hours are 9 am to 4 pm.
Pennsylvania Monument Closed for Annual Cleaning on Monday July 28
The Pennsylvania Monument will be closed for its annual cleaning of the upper and lower decks, steps, and gutters on Monday July 28. It is expected to reopen around 4 pm.
July 4 Fireworks Road Closures
For visitor safety & resource protection, multiple roads will close at 7 pm on July 4. These include all park roads south of Wheatfield Road & Benner Hill Road. West Confederate Avenue will also close at 9 pm for safety purposes. Click MORE for a map.
Birney Avenue (around the Peach Orchard) Closure on August 5
Birney Avenue (around the Peach Orchard) will be closed on August 5 to allow our monuments crew to safely clean a series of monuments located on this stretch of battlefield road. The road should reopen by 3:00 pm. Thank you for your understanding.
Rose Farm Rehabilitation Project Closure Notice
As of May 2023, the Rose Farm & Rose Lane are closed to all visitation. The house will undergo a full rehabilitation. This work prohibits the use of the area around the house and lane during construction. Worker safety and resource protection are key.
David Wills House Closure
The David Wills House closed in October 2024 due to a burst water line and will remain closed for the remainder of 2025. No known reopening date is available. Please visit our David Wills House web page for more information and a 3D tour of the house.

The Historic Bushman House offers a unique opportunity to stay within the boundaries of Gettysburg National Military Park, where one of the Civil War's most significant battles took place. Restored and updated in 2017, this historic farmhouse is nestled among famous landmarks like Little Round Top and Devil's Den, set back from roadways for a peaceful retreat. The house features three bedrooms with 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds, accommodating up to 6 guests. Modern conveniences include a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker, and all necessary utensils, plus 1.5 bathrooms, central heating and air conditioning, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Bed linens and towels are provided, and keyless entry ensures convenient access. From the Bushman House, visitors can easily explore the 6,000-acre battlefield through self-guided auto tours, ranger-led programs, and walking trails. The park's visitor center, featuring the Gettysburg cyclorama painting and Civil War artifacts, is nearby, as is Eisenhower National Historic Site. The historic town of Gettysburg, with its shops and restaurants, is just 3 miles north. Reservations are available up to 6 months in advance through Recreation.gov.
Directions
The Bushman House is located at 30 S Confederate Avenue approximately 3 miles south of Gettysburg. From the north or south, follow US 15 to the Steinwehr Ave exit toward Gettysburg. From east or west, drive into Gettysburg on US Route 30, turn south on Baltimore Street (Route 97), then turn south on Steinwehr Ave or Bus Route 15 South. Nearest airport is Harrisburg International Airport, approximately 35 miles north.
