About
Built in 1808, the Historic Bushman House is a stone farmhouse with a brick addition that witnessed the Battle of Gettysburg firsthand. The Bushman farm served as a staging ground for Confederate General John Bell Hood's attack during the battle. Beautifully restored and updated in 2017, the house is nestled within the 6,000-acre Gettysburg National Military Park, set back from roadways near Little Round Top and Devil's Den. The house features 3 bedrooms with 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds, 1.5 bathrooms, a fully equipped modern kitchen with stove, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and Keurig coffee maker, plus a dining room and sitting room. Central heating and air conditioning ensure year-round comfort. Linens and sheets are provided, though guests must bring their own toiletries. Free WiFi is available but there are no televisions. Reservations are required through Recreation.gov with a minimum 2-night and maximum 6-night stay. A $250 refundable security deposit is required. Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. No pets are permitted except service animals. The house is not wheelchair accessible. No open fires, tents, trailers, or RVs are allowed on the property.
