Due to extreme heat, outdoor ranger programs will be modified. If you plan to explore the farm today, bring plenty of water, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and monitor yourself and others for signs of heat related illness.

Eisenhower NHS Grounds Closed Due to Winter Storm

Due to winter weather conditions, Eisenhower NHS grounds are closed today, January 20, 2025. Park staff will provide updates when site grounds have reopened for visitation.

Reception Center Rehabilitation Project

The Eisenhower Reception Center is undergoing a rehabilitation construction project in 2025. This will not impact visitors' ability to tour the Eisenhower home. For more, click here.

December 2023 Holiday Tours at Eisenhower NHS

Visitors coming to Eisenhower NHS for Christmas tours of the Eisenhower home are reminded to dress for the elements as there may be a wait to enter the home. Tours are subject to cancellation on short notice due to weather and icy conditions on site.

Hazardous Air Quality

Due to hazardous air quality, park programming and operations will be modified for Thursday June 8, 2023. Our 9:30 am Ranger Guided Walk, 4:00 pm Camp Colt walk, and tours of the Eisenhower home are cancelled.

Show Barn Saturday Cancelled Due to Heat

Due to a forecasted heat index of 100 this afternoon, Show Barn Saturday will not be taking place today. The Show Barn open house hours will resume next on June 29. Tours of the Eisenhower home will proceed as scheduled but will be abbreviated in length.

Bike Week Disruptions and Closures July 10-14

Noise disruptions and road closures will be in effect during Gettysburg Bike Week from July 10-14. The 3 pm tour of the Eisenhower home on July 13 is cancelled due to accompanying road closures. Click MORE for details.

House Tours Cancelled for Friday August 9

Eisenhower NHS is cancelling house tour programming for today, Friday, August 9, storm and flood warnings related to the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby. While portions of the site remain open, please exercise caution if you plan on visiting.

World War II Weekend Site Closure Friday September 20

Eisenhower NHS will be closed on Friday September 20 to ensure safe set-up for World War II Weekend events. We will re-open for visitation at 9 AM on Saturday, September 21st.

Outdoor Ranger Programs May Be Modified From June 22-25 Due To Excessive Heat

June 25 update. All ranger programs will be shortened and modified. We will continue to update the ranger program schedule daily based on the weather forecast. 100 Nights of Taps will still perform at the Pennsylvania Memorial at 7 pm.

Gettysburg Parks Closed on 2/13/24 due to Winter Storm

Gettysburg NMP and Eisenhower NHS are closed due to a major winter storm. The Gettysburg NMP Museum & Visitor Center is also closed. Please slow down and use caution if driving on public roads through the battlefield.

West Confederate Avenue Closes at 9 pm for July 4 Fireworks

West Confederate Avenue will close at 9 pm for the July 4 fireworks demonstration for visitor safety and resource protection. The avenue will reopen at the conclusion of the show.

Museum and Visitor Center Winter Hours Take Effect December 1, 2022

Museum and Visitor Center Winter Hours take effect December 1, 2022. From December 1, 2022, to February 28, 2023, building hours are 9 am to 4 pm.

Pennsylvania Monument Closed for Annual Cleaning on Monday July 28

The Pennsylvania Monument will be closed for its annual cleaning of the upper and lower decks, steps, and gutters on Monday July 28. It is expected to reopen around 4 pm.

July 4 Fireworks Road Closures

For visitor safety & resource protection, multiple roads will close at 7 pm on July 4. These include all park roads south of Wheatfield Road & Benner Hill Road. West Confederate Avenue will also close at 9 pm for safety purposes. Click MORE for a map.

Birney Avenue (around the Peach Orchard) Closure on August 5

Birney Avenue (around the Peach Orchard) will be closed on August 5 to allow our monuments crew to safely clean a series of monuments located on this stretch of battlefield road. The road should reopen by 3:00 pm. Thank you for your understanding.

Rose Farm Rehabilitation Project Closure Notice

As of May 2023, the Rose Farm & Rose Lane are closed to all visitation. The house will undergo a full rehabilitation. This work prohibits the use of the area around the house and lane during construction. Worker safety and resource protection are key.

David Wills House Closure

The David Wills House closed in October 2024 due to a burst water line and will remain closed for the remainder of 2025. No known reopening date is available. Please visit our David Wills House web page for more information and a 3D tour of the house.
