About

Lake Alice Campground sits at the edge of Lake Alice in the remote Wyoming Range of southwest Wyoming's Bridger-Teton National Forest. This primitive backcountry campground features 9 sites and is accessible only by hiking 1.5 miles east from Hobble Creek Campground via the Lake Alice Trail (NFST 1025). After crossing a bridge and staying left at the junction, hikers continue along the trail to the lake, then follow the southern shoreline to reach the campground. The area provides exceptional opportunities for fishing, day hiking, and horseback riding. Lake Alice is home to a genetically pure population of Bonneville cutthroat trout, protected by a forest order banning motorized or mechanical watercraft on the lake and within a quarter mile of it. Visitors should practice clean camping techniques and store all attractants in a manner unavailable to bears, as this is active bear country. This is a true primitive camping experience with no restrooms, no potable water, and no developed amenities. Campers must filter or treat water from nearby sources and pack out all trash. The campground is free and operates on a first come, first served basis.
