About

Allred Flats Group Picnic Site is a reservable day-use facility in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, situated at 6,500 feet elevation on the south side of Salt River Pass. Little White Creek runs alongside the area, where pines and aspens provide partial shade. The site can accommodate groups of up to 50 people with parking for 10 vehicles. Amenities include multiple large picnic tables, a fire ring with benches, a grill, and bear-resistant garbage cans. Vault toilets are on-site, and potable water can be accessed at the adjacent Allred Flat Campground. This is a day-use only facility; overnight camping is not permitted here. The area offers access to numerous hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails ranging from easy half-mile paths to challenging 14-mile backcountry routes. Salt Creek fishing across the highway is popular, and Smiths Fork Road provides scenic driving with views of the Wyoming and Salt River Ranges.

Directions

From Afton, Wyoming, take Highway 89 south for approximately 21 miles over Salt River Pass. Look for a brown sign indicating Allred Flats Campground and turn right onto Forest Service Road 10131. The picnic area is on the left, just before the campground entrance kiosk.
