About
Allred Flats Group Picnic Site is located below Salt River Pass in the lush forests of western Wyoming, just half a mile off Highway 89. Positioned at the entrance to Allred Flat Campground at an elevation of 6,500 feet, this day-use facility sits alongside Little White Creek, where pines and aspens offer partial shade and summer wildflowers are abundant. The group site can accommodate up to 50 people and 10 vehicles, featuring several large picnic tables, a fire ring with benches, and a grill. Vault toilets and drinking water via hand pumps are available on-site. The picnic area provides an ideal base for exploring numerous hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails in the area, ranging from easy half-mile paths to challenging 14-mile backcountry routes. The site is part of the Bridger-Teton National Forest, which encompasses more than 3.4 million acres of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Nearby attractions include scenic driving along Salt River Pass with access to Smiths Fork Road, expansive views of the Wyoming and Salt River Ranges, and fishing opportunities in Salt Creek just across the highway. This is a day-use only facility; overnight camping is available at the adjacent Allred Flat Campground.
