About
Hobble Creek Campground is a beautiful and remote campsite on the Kemmerer Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Situated along fish-filled Hobble Creek at 42.4°N, the campground offers 18 campsites with vault toilets and trash service during the operating season. The campground serves as the trailhead to Lake Alice, a short 1.5 mile hike east that leads to 9 additional walk-in campsites. Stock corrals are available for equestrians, making this an excellent base for horseback riding adventures. The Hobble Creek Campground is located near the Hobble Creek Trailhead where visitors can continue along Hobble Creek and eventually connect to the historic Lander Cutoff of the Oregon Trail. The remote location, approximately 80 miles and 1 hour 50 minutes from Kemmerer via Forest Service roads, ensures a peaceful wilderness experience. Due to the challenging access road conditions, trailers longer than 30 feet are not recommended. Visitors are strongly encouraged to practice clean camping techniques and store all attractants (food, toothpaste, etc.) in a manner that makes them unavailable to bears, as this is bear country.
