About

Buffalo Harbor State Park is a waterfront day-use facility located on Lake Erie in Buffalo, New York. As the first state park within the city limits, it provides urban residents and visitors access to Lake Erie recreation. The park's centerpiece is a 1,100-slip marina, complemented by boat launches, personal watercraft launches, and a fish cleaning station for anglers. Day-use amenities include a pier and boardwalk for strolling along the waterfront, a nautical-themed playground, and Charlie's Boat Yard restaurant. Three pavilion shelters with capacities ranging from 75 to 130 people are available for group rentals. Recreational activities include canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing, and biking. This is strictly a day-use park with no campgrounds or overnight accommodations. Swimming and hunting are prohibited. The Buffalo Harbor Improvement Project has been underway with construction expected to be complete by Spring 2026.
