About

Stony Brook State Park campground sits in the rolling hills of Steuben County, about 2 miles south of Dansville. The 88 campsites and 8 four-person rustic cabins are dispersed through the woodlands above the park's rugged gorge, accessed via the South Entrance. Each site comes equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. The campground provides flush toilets and hot showers in each loop, plus a centralized dump station and water fillup station. The park's centerpiece is a dramatic gorge carved by Stony Brook, featuring three waterfalls and rugged rock formations. East and West Rim trails offer hiking along the gorge edges. A natural stream-fed swimming pool with lifeguards operates seasonally. Additional recreation includes tennis courts, a playground, and volleyball. Generators are permitted only during designated hours (9-11 AM and 5-9 PM). Alcohol is prohibited throughout the park.
