About
Stony Brook State Park campground is set in the woodlands above a dramatic gorge with rugged cliffs and three major waterfalls. The campground features 88 non-electric campsites spread across three loops, one group campsite, and eight rustic cabins. All campsites have a picnic table and fire ring, with comfort stations located in each loop and a dump station available for RVs. The rustic cabins offer protection from the elements but have no electricity or water. The park's terrain comprises hilly woodlands and fascinating rock formations. Three hiking trails, each approximately one mile long with significant elevation changes, offer views of waterfalls and the gorge. The Gorge Trail is the most scenic, passing all three major waterfalls starting from the natural stream-fed swimming pool at the North Entrance. East Rim and West Rim trails climb through woodlands overlooking the gorge. Day use facilities include picnic areas, playgrounds, tennis courts, baseball fields, volleyball and basketball courts, and two rentable pavilions. Bow hunting for deer is permitted in designated areas during season.
