About

Gull Lake Recreation Area is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground located on the Gull River at the outlet of Gull Lake, part of the six Mississippi Headwaters Projects. The campground features well-spaced wooded sites with 30 or 50 amp electric hookups, picnic tables, and campfire rings. A central shower building, water fill station, and dump station serve the campground. The recreation area offers extensive amenities including a swimming beach on Gull Lake, boat ramp with access to the entire Gull Chain of Lakes, paved shoreline fishing platform, fish cleaning station, multiple playgrounds, volleyball nets, basketball hoop, and horseshoe pits. A self-guided interpretive trail provides wildlife watching opportunities and scenic lake overlooks. Canoe and kayak launches provide access to the Gull River. Anglers can fish for stocked walleye, northern pike, bass, and panfish. The area connects to the City of East Gull Lake's paved multi-use trail and the Paul Bunyan State Trail. Wildlife viewing includes bald eagles, white-tailed deer, river otters, songbirds, and loons. The campground is minutes from Brainerd, Baxter, and Nisswa with their golf courses, shopping, amusement parks, and zoo.
