Crow Wing State Park Camper Cabin

Closed — Closed for the season. The camper cabin operates seasonally from April through October.

About

Crow Wing State Park's camper cabin provides a snug shelter for up to five people seeking an outdoor adventure at this historic location. The cabin comes equipped with mattresses, but guests need to bring their own bedding. Outdoor amenities include a picnic table and fire ring for meal preparation. The cabin does not have electricity. The park sits at the confluence of the Mississippi and Crow Wing rivers, a site rich in Minnesota history. In the mid-1800s, this was the location of Old Crow Wing, a bustling frontier town of over 500 residents that served as a major stop along the Red River Ox Cart Trail. Today, visitors can explore the remains of this historic townsite, including the 1849 Beaulieu House, the only remaining structure from that era north of St. Anthony Falls. The park features 14 miles of hiking trails, interpretive signs explaining the area's fur-trading history and the battle of 1768 between the Dakota and Ojibwe, and scenic overlooks of the rivers. The cabin is located near the main campground facilities, with vault toilets a short walk away and modern restrooms with showers available at the campground loop. A water faucet is conveniently located across from the cabin. The park also offers a boat landing, canoe rentals, and opportunities for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in winter on select trails.
