About

Crow Wing State Park Campground sits at the confluence of the Mississippi and Crow Wing Rivers in central Minnesota, where three of the state's major landscapes converge: prairie, pine forest, and hardwood forest. The 59 drive-in campsites, 12 of which offer electric hookups, are nestled among mature oak and pine trees with a seasonal shower building serving the area. The park holds significant historical importance as the site of Old Crow Wing, a frontier town that served travelers and traders in the mid-1800s. Visitors can walk through the historic townsite, now on the National Register of Historic Places, and view the restored Beaulieu House (1849) and Father Pierz Chapel (1867). Beyond camping, the park offers 18 miles of hiking trails, canoe and kayak rentals for paddling the calm river waters, and prairie viewing opportunities. Chippewa Lookout provides scenic views of the Mississippi River. Camper cabins and a group camp accommodating up to 75 people are also available for those seeking alternative lodging options.
