Crow Wing State Park Group Campground sits within a 3,119-acre state park at the confluence of the Mississippi and Crow Wing rivers, a site of significant historical importance where oxcart trade routes between Winnipeg and Saint Paul thrived for over two decades. The group camp provides a rustic setting alongside the Mississippi River, with a grassy lawn accommodating more than a dozen tents and a parking area suitable for six to eight RVs or campers. The campground serves as a base for exploring diverse landscapes representing three of Minnesota's major ecological regions: prairie, pine forest, and hardwood forest. Campers have access to 18 miles of hiking trails, 6.5 miles of paved bike trail connecting to the 115-mile Paul Bunyan State Trail, and calm waters ideal for novice paddlers. Canoe and kayak rentals are available at the park. The group camp features primitive amenities including vault toilets, water access, picnic tables, and fire rings with grills.

From Brainerd, travel south on Highway 371. Turn west onto County Road 27, then follow signs to Crow Wing State Park. The park entrance is at 3124 State Park Road, Brainerd, MN 56401.
