About
Green Spot Equestrian Group Camp is a specialized equestrian facility located at the east end of Big Bear Valley in the San Bernardino Mountains at 7,224 feet elevation. This single-site group campground is designed specifically for horse camping and provides five horse corrals that can accommodate up to 10 horses. The site can host groups of up to 25 people and eight vehicles. The campground is situated in a scenic pinyon pine and juniper forest with grassy meadows. Amenities include four picnic tables, one double pedestal grill, two single pedestal grills, one accessible fire ring, and one group fire ring. Vault toilets are provided, but drinking water and trash collection are not available, making this a pack-in, pack-out facility. The nearest showers are at Serrano Campground. The location provides excellent access to horseback riding trails and the Sugarloaf National Recreation Trail, a difficult trek to the highest point in Big Bear Valley at 9,952 feet. Big Bear Lake offers additional recreational opportunities including fishing, boating, and swimming. The access road to the campground is rough and rocky, suitable for four-wheel drive vehicles only.
