About

Great Seal State Park Campground is a small, scenic primitive campground located near Sugarloaf Mountain in southern Ohio's Ross County. The 15 walk-in sites are arranged around a grass hill offering views of the Scioto Valley below. This campground is particularly popular with equestrian campers, as sites 1-10 feature horse tie lines (picket lines) located behind the campsites for securing horses. The campground provides basic amenities including vault latrines, pressurized drinking water, and a shelter house. Each campsite comes equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. A playground is available for families. As a primitive campground, there are no electric hookups, showers, or dump stations. The surrounding park features over 16 miles of rugged hiking and bridle trails through hilly terrain, with the highlight being the climb to Sugarloaf Mountain for panoramic views. Quiet hours are observed from 10 PM to 7 PM.
