About
Deer Creek Lake Day Use Area is a day-use facility managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, situated just below the dam at Deer Creek Lake in Pickaway County, Ohio. The area offers two group picnic shelters named Buck and Doe, each capable of hosting up to 100 guests and equipped with electrical hookups for events. The shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis or can be reserved through Recreation.gov. The parking area, playground, and open spaces are freely accessible to the public without reservation. The facility sits approximately 40 yards from the creek, making it a popular spot for fishing. Deer Creek Lake itself supports bluegill, white crappie, channel catfish, saugeye, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and other species. This is strictly a day-use area with no overnight camping allowed. The facility is open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM, with fishing permitted after hours.
