About

Located in Pickaway County near Circleville, A.W. Marion State Park Campground offers 60 wooded campsites available year-round for tent and trailer camping. The campground is split between 29 non-electric sites and 29 electric sites with 20-amp and 30-amp hookups. There are no water or sewer hookups at individual sites, but a dump station is available for RV campers. The park became part of the Ohio Division of Parks and Recreation in 1950 and was renamed in 1962 to honor A.W. Marion, the first director of the Department of Natural Resources and a Pickaway County native. The campground provides pit latrines and drinking water, with basic amenities including fire rings and picnic tables at each site. Hargus Lake offers 145 acres of water for fishing and boating with electric motors only. The 5-mile Hargus Lake Trail provides scenic shoreline access, while the 1-mile Squawroot Nature Trail begins at the campground. Additional facilities include a basketball court, amphitheater, playground, and seasonal boat rentals. A youth group camp area is also available by reservation for organized groups. Pets are permitted on leash throughout the campground.
